These terms govern your use of Tilth (“the app”), made available on the App Store by Mike Spearman. By downloading or using Tilth you agree to these terms.

The app

Tilth is a garden tracking tool. It helps you log beds, plants, soil conditions, and weather, and uses an AI model to help diagnose plant problems. Your garden data is stored locally on your device — we do not operate a database of your personal information.

Subscriptions

Tilth is free to download with a limited free tier. Additional features are available through Tilth Premium:

  • Monthly — $4.99 / month
  • Annual — $29.99 / year (~$2.50 / month)
  • Lifetime — $49.99 one-time purchase

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Monthly and annual plans auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Unused portions of a free trial period, if any, are forfeited when a subscription is purchased.

AI features

Diagnostic queries use Anthropic’s Claude API. When you run a diagnosis, relevant garden context (plant, bed, soil, weather, your concern) is sent to the API. Tilth does not send your name, email, or any personally identifying information with these requests. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of what is sent and when.

AI responses are informational. They are not a substitute for advice from a certified horticulturalist or agronomist. Results may vary based on the data you’ve logged.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app.
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to circumvent the subscription system or in-app purchase validation.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its code are owned by Mike Spearman. Tilth does not claim ownership over any garden data, photos, or notes you enter. Your content is yours.

Disclaimer of warranties

Tilth is provided “as is.” We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy of AI diagnoses, weather data, or plant profiles. Use your own judgment when acting on information the app provides.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mike Spearman is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Tilth or reliance on its AI features.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
